LOCAL 2067
Proposed Constitutional Amendment to Start 2023
Updated On: Mar 01, 2023

Update: The membership approved the proposed changes at the February 9, 2023 membership meeting. The membership also voted to increase the retirement benefit to $25/year and the death benefit to $1,000.

Local 2067 will start 2023 by proposing changes to our Constitution.

The current Constitution limits what our local can pay our retirees for faithful years of membership and what we can pay as a death benefit to support the families of members who pass.

It also sets specific directions for our Political Action Committee.

The Executive Board is proposing changes which will allow future flexibility in payments and in the work of the Political Action Committee. You can download and read the proposed changes prior to the first reading which will be held at the January 12, 2023 general meeting.

The vote on the proposed changes will be at the General Membership Meeting on February 9, 2023 at Union Hall (1400 Tandem Ave), starting at 5:30 pm.

Timeline

January 12, 2023 - General Membership Meeting: First reading of proposed changes.

January 20, 2023 - Mail notice of February vote.

February 9, 2023 - General Membership Meeting: Membership vote on proposed changes.
