If you are interested in shaping the future of AFSCME in Oregon as well as Salem, consider running for one of our local's five delegate positions to the AFSCME Council 75 Convention. As a delegate, you will represent the local in deciding the policies that will rule Oregon AFSCME for the next two years. You will also elect statewide officers who will guide the organization.

Nominations for the five delegate positions and five alternate positions must be made in person at Local 2067's general membership meeting on February 9th. The meeting will be at the Union Hall starting at 5:30 p.m. You may nominate yourself at the meeting or have someone else nominate you.

In the event only five people are nominated as delegates and five people nominated as alternates, those individuals will be considered elected. If more people are nominated, an election will be scheduled in March.

Delegates attend the three-day convention which includes speeches from union officers, reports from committees, the making of and debating motions and election of officers.

This year's convention will be in Salem April 28th through April 30th at the Salem Convention Center. Registration and meals will be paid by the local, but you will be required to use paid-time off for any missed work shifts.

Detailed information about the responsibilities of delegates is available on the official convention website.
